Matthew Gery is a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in working with individuals and families dealing with depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, relationship, and phase of life issues. Matt has a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and has over 8 years of experience working in mental health. He has worked in multiple venues including inpatient psychiatry, elementary schools, and outpatient settings.Matt received training in helping individuals with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders from Postpartum Support Virginia. He utilizes Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-focused Cognitive Processing Therapy, Attachment Theory, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to his clients develop skills to achieve their goals.

Matt is a proud father, and in his free time, heenjoys spending time with his daughter, hiking, fishing, and being outdoors.
